You can reach the patient ombudsman on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 12–14 hours by phone, number 029 524 3116 or by email to potilasasiamies(at)vvs.fi (the patient ombudsman will respond to emails within a few days).

The duties of the patient ombudsman are:
- Advise patients on matters relating to their status and rights (Act on the status and rights of patients 1992/785)
- Assist the patient in submitting objections and complaints.(1992/785, Sections 10(1) and (3))
- Inform about the patients’ rights.
- Act for the promotion and implementation of patients’ rights.
